About the Event
Join us for an exquisite three-course meal at award-winning bistro Table 926 with New York Times bestselling author and Le Cordon Bleu trained chef Kathleen Flinn, as she discusses and signs The Kitchen Counter Cooking School.
Chef Matthew Richman and his pastry chef Sherman Chan have blended local produce with Mediterranean and Latino flavors to create a sumptuous fall menu for the AIWF annual silent auction and fundraiser to benefit Days of Taste, a program designed to teach children about food, local produce, and basic nutrition. Included in the event is a silent auction featuring fine wines and restaurant certificates.
About the Book and Author
Kathleen Flinn realized that many Americans relate to “I just don’t have time to cook,” “I don’t know what to do with what I already have in the kitchen,” and “My vegetables go bad before I can use them.” The Kitchen Counter Cooking School will inspire readers to stop being afraid of the kitchen. It is a stirring, practical, and humorous book that includes many easy recipes to get readers cooking and strategies to get the most for your dollar, while boosting self-confidence in the kitchen to make life easier, cheaper, healthier, and more fun.
Geared to cooks of all levels, The Kitchen Counter Cooking School instructs novice cooks, inspires experienced cooks who have gotten out of the habit of cooking, offers helpful tips on how to make healthy meals for cooks challenged for time, offers fun ideas for book clubs, and is sure to be a hit with cooks no matter what age or what level of cooking experience.
Reservations may be made by contacting the AIWF at (619) 297-0951. A portion of the dinner is tax-deductible and receipts will be offered at dinner. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event or may be pre-purchased below.
