About the Book and Author

A gripping literary detective story, Kafka’s Last Love is the remarkable story of a woman who was by the side of literary giant Franz Kafka at the end of his life. Kathi Diamant brings to light the amazing woman who captured Kafka’s heart and kept his literary flame alive for decades. It was Dora Diamant who pursuaded Kafka to leave his parents and live in Berlin with her the year before he died. Kafka’s Last Love draws upon original interviews, never-before-seen material from Gestapo archives, and Dora’s recently discovered notebooks, diary, and letters.  Kathi Diamant is the director of the Kafka Project at San Diego State University and for over 20 years has been immersed in the story of Dora Diamant.
